Ocean City has ordered the owners of the former Bellevue Hotel to demolish the building immediately. The 99-room former hotel suffered water and structural damage from an August rainstorm and was found by construction officials to be unsafe to the public. If the owners are unable or unwilling to follow the demolition order, Ocean City officials will hire a contractor to complete the demolition, and place a lien on the property to recover the costs.
