Opening up contracts to save jobs has been working in Cape May County. The Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 7 agreed to extend a contract with Cape May County for a year, and take their agreed to raises over the next two years, over three years instead. County Administrator Steven O’Connor told Coastal Broadcasting that this agreement ensures no layoffs in these departments over the life of the contract, which includes the corrections officers and the prosecutor’s office. This contract will now run until the end of 2013.
