It was an exciting start to the football season for the Middle Township High School program, but unfortunately the Panthers were on the losing end of a 27-26 score to Vineland. Middle Township’s Colin Cooper scored a touchdown with less than a minute left; the Panthers went for a two-point conversion and failed. In other action, Gloucester City routed Wildwood, 40-20; Wildwood was able to shut out Gloucester City in the second half. And Ocean City opened the season with a victory, 19-12 over Absegami.
