New Jersey has joined with 21 other states and Puerto Rico by reporting high rates of flu-like activity, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The latest report from the N.J. Department of Health shows the highest activity in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Somerset and Mercer counties, with the predominant strain of influenza Type A H3N2. The health department also reports that flu-like activity is also on the rise in long-term care facilities statewide.
