Good news for flounder fans; the summer flounder season has been extended until September 27th. On Wednesday the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission unanimously approved an 11-day extension of this year’s flounder season, which opens on May 18th. The commission also relaxed the limit on flounder caught in New York from 19.5 inches to 19 inches. The legal minimum size for flounder in New Jersey remains at 17.5 inches.
