Are you tired of hearing about coastal flood and storm advisories and warnings that sometimes do not pan out? That’s about to change. The National Weather Service announced that it will change the parameters used to issue flood advisories and warnings in our region so that when an advisory is issued, it’s nearly certain the weather event will happen. Starting on November 4th, the service will raise the threshold for water levels before issuing an advisory or warning. The changes are supposed to alleviate so called “warning fatigue” by the public.
