The Press of Atlantic City reports that the owner of a commercial fishing boat has been indicted on charges of conspiracy to collect on a $400,000 insurance claim. A federal grand jury indicted 38 year old Scott Tran of Cherry Hill, saying he hired several men to sink his vessel, often docked in Cape May, to collect the insurance claim. The report implicates two local crewmen, Erik James, 39, of Goshen, and Christopher “Stickman” Martin, 39, of Wildwood, who were each charged with conspiracy. The FBI arrested boat owner Scott Tran yesterday, James and Martin are still at large.
