FIRST GIRAFFE THAT CALLED CMC ZOO HOME PASSES AWAY

The Cape May County Zoo announced the passing of a giraffe. Officials say that the first giraffe that called the zoo home passed away roughly one month shy of its 20th birthday. Aziza arrived at the zoo nearly 20 years ago and was one of the first inhabitants in the Savannah. Aziza gave birth to her last calf in May, while the Zoo veterinarians were concerned about her health, her delivery went well and the female calf was healthy. Aziza had a degenerative heart condition that lead to cardiac insufficiency.
