The Wildwood Fire Department had to respond to a fire on the boardwalk on Tuesday evening. The fire broke out at 4004 Boardwalk. Firefighters found fire in the boardwalk level store area extending up an interior wall. The fire was quickly knocked down as ventilation was completed. The store was closed at the time of the incident. Fire units operated on scene for about one and a half hours. There were no reported injuries. Units operating on scene were Wildwood City FD, North Wildwood FD, Rio Grande FD. Wildwood Crest FD covered the city along with Middle Twp EMS. The fire was investigated by the CMC Fire Marshal’s Office and the City of Wildwood Fire Department as was determined to be accidental (electrical). Damage is estimated at $ 20,000.
