FIRE CAUSES BIG EVACUATIONS IN SOUTH JERSEY

A fire at a high rise apartment complex resulted in mass evacuations early Monday morning.  Flames tore through the first floor of the Cooper River Plaza Apartments in Pennsauken and drove about 350 people out of their apartments.  Firemen brought the blaze under control in a half hour; there were no injuries to the public, but one fireman suffered heat exhaustion while fighting the fire.
