The new year means fewer people will be locked up in New Jersey on minor offenses. A new regulation is now in effect in New Jersey that results in people not being detailed for minor offenses. Statistics show that one out of every 12 people stays in jail because a $2500 bail is too high. 20 more judges are being hired to help handle the new bail reforms.
