A public meeting with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) representatives cancelled due to the federal government shutdown has been rescheduled for Fri. Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. FEMA representatives will be available to meet with the public at Lower Township Hall, 2600 Bayshore Rd., Villas. A number of bay side residents in Lower and Middle townships have questioned their homes being placed in higher risk flood zones by federal flood maps which gives homeowners the choice of elevating their homes or paying costly flood insurance premiums.
