Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) officials have cancelled a public meeting scheduled for Oct. 18 at Lower Township Hall due to the federal government shutdown. The meeting was to allow the public and township officials to question FEMA staffers on recent flood map revisions that impact homeowners along the bay front. The meeting has been postponed until further notice. Lower Township Mayor Michael Beck said he would stay in touch with FEMA officials. He said the flood maps would have a huge impact on a number of residents. Beck said he hoped the meeting would be rescheduled when the federal government shutdown is resolved.
