FEMA officials say they have given out $137 million in the first month of recovery in New Jersey.
The New Jersey Office of Emergency Management and FEMA announce the following summary of assistance as of Oct. 1:
– 34,706 individuals have been approved for FEMA disaster assistance, averaging more than 1,100 per day.
– More than $107.5 million in disaster assistance for housing-related needs.
– Nearly $8 million in Other Needs Assistance for other necessary expenses and serious needs (i.e. personal property, transportation, medical and dental expenses, eye glass replacement, funeral and burial expenses).
– More than $21.4 million in U.S. Small Business Administration low-interest disaster loans to over 450 households and businesses.
