The family of 23 year-old Tricia Shurig, the woman who was charged with aggravated assault after throwing her baby into the Absecon Inlet on Sunday, has asked the public for compassion. Tricia’s mother Debbie told NBC-40 that her daughter was not in a clear state of mind leading up to the incident. Shurig said her daughter and granddaughter, Krishna, are still in the hospital but doing well. The family also gave thanks for the good Samaritans who risked their lives to save Tricia and baby Krishna. The Shurigs hope that other people battling depression will reach out for help before it’s too late for their situation.
