This Friday will mark the 17th anniversary of the death of Lower Township Police Officer David Douglass. The Lower Township Police Department announced that a remembrance will be held in Douglass’ memory during the day on Friday. At 10:00am, the public is invited to a flag raising ceremony at the Town Bank Volutneer Fire Department, with refreshments to follow. A wreath will also be placed at the flagpole at the fire department. Later in the evening at 7:15pm, all fire sirens in the township will blare as a tribute to Douglass. Douglass was killed after he exchanged gunfire with a crime suspect on February 18th, 1994. The suspect burglarized a local home, and set it on fire. Douglass was also a member of the Town Bank Fire Department.
