U.S. Congressman Frank A. LoBiondo announced that the existing veterans’ clinic in Ventnor will be relocating to a new, larger space in Northfield next year. A lease at 1909 New Road in Northfield was signed earlier this morning by representatives of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). After remodeling and renovations, the expanded clinic in Northfield is expected to be operational in summer 2011.
“Today’s announcement is certainly a significant step towards expanding healthcare services for our veterans in Atlantic County,” said LoBiondo, a member of the House Armed Services Committee. “I’ve worked closely with the VA to expand and enhance services at our community-based clinics, and am pleased they recognize the real need to expand and update the physical space of the Ventnor clinic. The new location in Northfield will provide more space for the VA while being more accessible for our veterans.”
For over a year, the VA has been looking to expand and enhance the physical space of the Ventnor clinic. The new location in Northfield will offer approximately 10,000 square feet of space on the single floor building, making it more accessible for disabled veterans. It is also convenient to two mass transit lines, easy access to major roadways and plenty of surface and handicapped parking. LoBiondo’s office has been part of the working group established by the VA to locate a new facility.
