Republicans in New Jersey outspent their democratic opponents during the key 2011 elections in the Garden State. New campaign finance figures released just before the weekend show republicans spent $8.4 million on elections last year, while democrats spent $7.1 million. The 2011 expenditures by the republican party are 28 percent higher than they were just four years ago.
