ELDERLY MAN’S BODY FOUND IN SOUTH JERSEY POND

The body of a 79 year old man from Fortescue was found floating in a pond in Downe Township this week. The Press of Atlantic City reports that James Phiefer was found floating in Shaws Mill Pond on Tuesday after State Police reported to a call about a suspicious vehicle near the pond. His vehicle was running and parked next to the pond where his body was found. Police are investigating the cause of death, and say it does not appear to be suspicious.
