EARLY RELEASE PROGRAM ENDED FOR INMATES

A program allowing early release for prisoners has been ended. Gov. Chris Christie signed a new bill into law that would stop a program allowing some inmates to leave jail six months early. Two dozen have been arrested for new crimes of the 363 that have been put through, including two homicides. The measure was approved in the Assembly on Monday and was signed a short time later.
