E-FILING MEANS LESS LAST-MINUTE TAX RETURNS

On Monday, April 15th, local tax preparers saw less last-minute traffic as more citizens filed their annual tax returns online this year. According to the IRS, 89 percent of tax returns filed through April 5th were filed electronically. Of those returns the IRS estimates 81 percent are due refunds. More than 10 million returns were received by the IRS online from Friday through Sunday.
