A Camden man was sentenced to eight years in state prison
for possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
On October 5, An Atlantic County Petit Jury convicted Antonio Arroyo, 39, of third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance, fourth-degree obstructing the administration of law and fourth-degree resisting arrest by flight.
For the possession charge, Superior Court Judge Max A. Baker sentenced Arroyo to an extended term of eight years in New Jersey State Prison, of which he must serve four years before becoming eligible for parole. Arroyo also received an 18-month sentence for the obstruction and resisting arrest charges, which were merged into one charge for the purpose of sentencing. The 18-month sentence is to be served concurrent to the 8- year sentence.
