A ship-to-shore drone test was conducted on Wednesday at the Cape May Lewes Ferry, to simulate a delivery of medical supplies. The test was conducted by the Cape May County government, the FAA, and other organizations to explore how drones could be used in an emergency or disaster. The drone in the simulation carried a box of simulated medical blood, urine and stool samples, and landed on a small barge just outside the Cape May Canal. Officials claim it was the first ever FAA-approved drone delivery from land to sea.
