The state of New Jersey has no plans to repair the Beesley’s Point Bridge. According to an online report by the Press of Atlantic City, the state is currently scrapping plans to repair the bridge and the span may become a fishing pier instead. The Beesley’s Point Bridge connects Cape May and Atlantic counties along Route 9. The Press reports that construction estimates came in at $12 million over budget. The drawbridge may be removed, and the bridge may be used for recreation instead.
