Did the Pope’s visit to Philadelphia help the Jersey Shore? Guaranteed. Heavy southbound traffic was seen on major shore feeder roads on Friday evening as the Delaware Valley got a final taste of summer. Cape May County Tourism Director Diane Wieland told the Philadelphia Inquirer that her office spent an additional $6,000 on web advertising to convince Philadelphians to leave the city and come to the Jersey Cape. There were many special events at the shore this weekend, especially in the Wildwoods.
