New Jersey State Police now confirm that a state trooper was found dead inside his patrol car near the Garden State Parkway in Wall Township. State Police issued a statement this morning, saying in part:
Shortly after 7:30 a.m., a law enforcement officer came upon a marked troop car on the ramp from the Garden State Parkway southbound to Rt. 34 southbound. A state trooper was found unresponsive in the vehicle.
Numerous state police detectives are working on the case. A state police officer came upon the trooper’s car around 7:30am Wednesday on a Garden State Parkway exit ramp, near Route 34. The deceased trooper was found inside his vehicle. At this hour, State Police are calling it a “suspicious death”, but no additional suspects or vehicles are being sought at this time.
