We may be waiting even longer for the demolition of the Beesleys Point Bridge, according to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the state Department of Environmental Protection decided at their meeting on Tuesday, that the NJTA may not receive wetlands mitigation credit for demolition of the span when they replace the southbound span of the Garden State Parkway Bridge, because the Beesleys Point span has been out of service for five years. The DEP will meet with the authority on Thursday to help move the permitting process along.
