UPDATE: DENNIS TOWNSHIP TO GO TO RECOUNT

A committee race in Dennis Township was decided by only one vote and will now face a recount. Official word from the final vote count following provisional ballots is Democrat Lisa Salimbene 1109 and Republican Frank Germanio 1108. Democrat Don Tozer is safe at 1117. The other candidate in the election is Julie DeRose came in at 1005.  Cape May County Republican Chairman Mike Donohue released this statement:  “After the counting of provisional ballots, there is only one vote separating Frank Germanio and his Democratic opponent. A petition will be filed requesting a recount and review of ballots. We believe it is in the interest of everyone that we ensure the outcome of such a close election is valid.” The provisional vote count broke well for the Republicans as Germanio trailed by 7 votes prior to the provisional count of 13 ballots.
