Official with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority say the Tuesday night fire on the Beesleys Point Bridge will not affect the demolition work currently underway. The old toll booth was destroyed but the fire did not damage any barges or cranes tied to the bridge. The demolition of the old bridge is part of a $143 million contract to reconstruct the southbound bridge on the Garden State Parkway over mouth of the Great Egg Harbor River.
