A second indictment against former Wildwood Mayor Gary DeMarzo was thrown out by the judge just before the weekend. DeMarzo released the following statement to the media about the decision.
“Mr. Taylor’s indictment was tossed AGAIN! Cape May County Prosecutor Robert Taylor was repudiated once more by Superior Court Judge Albert Garofalo in the dismissal of all charges against me. I maintain this indictment is nothing more than a political vendetta against me by Taylor due to the pursuit of justice in the beating of a double-cuffed prisoner (on tape) at the hands of the now Captain Regalbuto…The wheels of justice turn slowly, but they do turn and the best days lie ahead for my family and me.”
DeMarzo had been indicted for misusing taxpayer funds by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office. Prospector Taylor had asked for Superior Court Judge Albert Garofalo to step down from the case because Taylor claimed that the judge bias.
