Now it’s the defense’s turn in the Robert Davies murder trial. Davies is the North Wildwood man who’s accused of killing tourist Lavern Paul Ritch in Margate back in August, 2007. Davies at first acted as his own attorney in his defense, but he recently sought professional counsel. Davies has told the courtroom that he did stab Ritch to death, but maintains it was an act of self defense. The prosecution rested its case last Wednesday and now the defense has its opportunity to present its argument. No word yet if Davies will testify in his own behalf.
