Up to nine police officers could be let go in Millville if the police union doesn’t take eight furlough days. City officials have said the decision is one or another and the deadline is the end of the month. Millville City Commission has said they plan to keep the tax rate flat this year and are going to cut across the board. The cuts would include eight officers and one dispatcher. In addition to these cuts, the city will be losing five police officers to retirement and will not be filling those positions.
