Democrats and Republicans in Trenton are close to a deal that will result in a new state budget that includes many of the cuts proposed by Governor Chris Christie’s administration. The Star Ledger reports that the budget will total about $29.3 billion, and will include many of the cuts that Christie proposed, including cuts in school aid. Some other minor cuts will be restored under the agreement that’s being reached by both parties. Lawmakers insist that a budget will be passed by June 24th, a full week ahead of the July 1 deadline.
