DEAL FINALIZED: SOUTHWEST PURCHASE OF AIRTRAN COMPLETE

Southwest Airlines has official purchased Airtran. The announcement was made by Southwest on its website on Monday. It is still unclear what it means for Airtran’s service at the Atlantic City International Airport. According to an e-mail sent to its customers, all current route maps will be maintained. Changes could take place in the future, but Southwest has not gone that far to make an announcement. Airtran runs service only to Atlanta from Atlantic City.
