DEADLINE COMING ON AFFORDABLE HOUSING DOLLARS

Its use it or lose it. Towns throughout New Jersey face a July 17 deadline to commit monies collected for their housing trust funds, or have the money forfeited to the NJ Department of Community Affairs. Middle Township has approximately 1.6 million dollars in the fund, collected from developers over the last several years. Township Committee there has said they are willing to work on affordable housing, but there have been a lot of moving parts on the legislation over the years.
