On Wednesday Cumberland County freeholders voted to approve a plan to accept inmates from Gloucester County. Details of the shared services agreement need to be worked out, but county officials say that Cumberland County stands to make $3 million a year on the deal. The agreement would last for 10 years and give each county a one-year notice to opt out of the agreement. Corrections officers have voiced some concerns over the new plan, including the problem of putting gang members from each county together in one jail.
