
Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel
A single-vehicle crash in Egg Harbor City early Sunday morning resulted in the death of a 19-year-old woman, Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel announced.
On October 23, at approximately 1:30 a.m., authorities from the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, the Egg Harbor City Police Department and the Galloway Township Police Department responded to the scene of a vehicular accident. A Jeep Cherokee, driven by Kevin Dilks, 20, of Chatsworth, NJ, was traveling south on Clarks Landing Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then left the west side of the roadway and overturned, coming to rest against several trees. The female passenger, Ashley Adams, 19, of Southampton, NJ, appeared to have been ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious injuries. She was flown to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City. The driver, who did not suffer any serious injuries, was transported by ambulance to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center as well.
Charges have not been filed at this time. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Egg Harbor City Police Department are continuing to investigate the crash.
