A ruling was handed down on Tuesday that said Ocean City cannot be held responsible for the death of 16-year-old girl on a personal watercraft in 2006. The state appeals court made the ruling in the case where the city was accused of not enforcing their own ordinance. An ordinance is on the books that says those who use personal watercrafts need to complete a boat safety course. The court said that Ocean City is not responsible for checking everyone’s safety course history that wants to use a personal watercraft.
