Another major victory for New Jersey Governor Chris Christie as he cracks down on school spending. A New Jersey appeals court ruled Monday that Christie’s order to school districts to use surplus funding to make up for the loss of state aid is legal, and binding. The Associated Press reports that Christie’s order to freeze $475 million in state aid was met by great resistence from schools, and they wanted the state to restore the funding. The court ruled that the governor acted within his authority to make these major cuts in school funding.
