COUNTY WORKERS VOTE TO KEEP JOBS, EXTEND CONTRACT

A big vote on Monday will avoid all layoffs in the Cape May County government. The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Local 3596 voted overwhelming to split a five percent raise over two years at 2.5 percent each year. The concessions saves at least 35 jobs.  The vote took place at the Old Courthouse building in Middle Township.
