COUNTY WILL NOT RECOUP LOST CANADIAN TOURISM DOLLARS IN 2021

Perhaps the only bad news for the tourism summer of 2021 is that it is very unlikely the County will recapture the Canadian tourism business this year.  The closure of the United States-Canada border has been extended until August 21st which is well past the traditional Canadian visitation in our area.  County Commissioner Gerald Thornton says this closure makes no sense “when the southern border is being flooded with immigrants on a daily basis”.
