The Cape May County Office of Emergency Management has issued a “Code Blue” severe weather advisory for Saturday March 18th and Sunday March 19th effective from 6 pm to 6 am. “Code Blue” is enacted when the temperature drops to 32 degrees or below, and is intended to protect homeless living outside in the elements who can then seek inside shelter. While the high temperature will be close to 50 Saturday and near the mid-40s Sunday, AccuWeather has a forecast calling for low temperatures overnights this weekend at or near the freezing range. If you or someone you know needs shelter, call the Cape May County Division of Social Services at (609) 886-6200 ext 2434 Monday – Friday 8:30-4:30 or call 2-1-1 after 4:30PM and on weekends, and holidays.
