The four people running for Freeholder in Cape May County held their big debate on Monday. The League of Women Voters sponsored the debate, which featured Republicans Gerald Thornton and Susan Sheppard, plus Democrats Robert Jackson and Patrick Morley. The Republicans continued their platform of jobs for Cape May County and working with all the elected officials to find areas of shared service. Morley suggested that reforming county government can’t be done be someone who has been on the Freeholder board. Both Jackson and Morley say they can bring the checks and balances needed to run the county. Thornton is the only incumbent running in this election. Election date is Tues., Nov 2.
