Cape May County freeholders are further explaining the County’s decision to purchase the old KMart building at auction for $5.75 million. Freeholders state in a press release that the County has doubled the space for current social services for less than the cost to lease it; and, the County received better financial terms to purchase the entire plaza. The Department of Veterans Affairs will also pay the County $1.3 million for rehabilitating a portion of the building for a new clinic.
