The Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders will introduce the proposed 2011 budget at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Chosen Freeholders at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2011.
The Board had originally planned to introduce the budget at its January 25th meeting. However, the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) has extended the period for the introduction of budgets until the end of February and their adoption until the end of March. The DCA is in the process of revising this year’s CAP calculations and the County is waiting for the necessary worksheets from the State of New Jersey to ensure that the budget is consistent with their mandates.
A Public Hearing on the proposed budget is now scheduled to take place on Tuesday, March 8th at 7 p.m. Adoption of the final budget will follow public comment at the meeting on March 8th.
