COUNTIES COULD SOON COLLECT SMALL TAX ON HOTEL ROOMS

Counties throughout the Garden State may soon have the ability to collect a one percent tax on all hotel room rentals. The Press of Atlantic City reports that Senate President Steve Sweeney announced a package of bills that would help counties raise funding through this special one percent tax. The bill requires that any revenue generated must be used for tax relief.
