COST OF OCEAN CITY BEACH TAGS GOING UP

A day at the beach will cost more in Ocean City this summer. The Ocean City Council met Thursday night and voted in favor of a five dollar increase in the cost of a seasonal beach tag. The new price for the tag will be $25; last year the cost was $20. The cost of a preseason beach tag will also increase by five dollars, to $20. Mayor Jay Gillian says the increase in the cost of beach tags will help reduce the increase in the local purpose tax rate in 2011.
