CONTROLLED BURNS TOOK PLACE NEAR MAYS LANDING

If you saw heavy smoke in the area of Mays Landing on Thursday, it was planned that way. A controlled burn took place on Thursday. A controlled burn of 23 acres at Atlantic County’s Lake Lenape West Park in Mays Landing was conducted by the New Jersey State Forest Fire Service. Local officials put out advisories before the event so the public wouldn’t be alarmed.
