CONGRESS WILL NOT GIVE SHORE PROPERTIES A BREAK ON FLOOD INSURANCE

House Speaker John Boehner announced this week that Congress will not take up new legislation that would delay or repeal a plan that results in higher flood insurance rates for vacation homeowners and shore businesses.  Boehner says there won’t be any consideration for a plan that would delay the implementation of these higher rates.  However, Boehner says that he would consider modest changes to the flood insurance program.
