Police in Vineland have made concessions to keep layoffs from taking place on the force. The union voted in favor of the concessions, which include paying additional money for health care and a switch to a less expensive health care plan. The city is going to try to provide the rest of the money necessary to avoid any police layoffs. It was reported previously that Mayor Robert Romano wrote 20 layoff notices to fill a budget gap if concessions were not found by the union.
